Join Treatment Homes at the Governor’s Mansion on June 4, 2019, to honor the Junior League of Little Rock with the “Make a Difference” award; Mark and Mary Woodville with the “Angel” award, and to recognize Dr. Allan Ward.
Our partnership with the Junior League of Little Rock goes back more than 25 years when we participated at the very first JLLR Holiday House to sell our gingerbread kits as kick-off to our annual Gingerbread Extravaganza.
This collaboration has created a much-cherished a tradition of quality time with children by decorating a gingerbread house. Children often forget the toys they receive for Christmas, but they never forget the time spent with family decorating their unique and very special gingerbread creation. If foster children can’t have a home, they certainly can have their very own gingerbread home!!
In addition, the Junior League each year has exhibited sustained leadership in the community that exemplifies a major focus and commitment to children and youth. The multiple projects and initiatives sponsored by the Junior League will continue to change the lives of children, youth and families for generations yet to come.
The “Angel Award” will be presented to Mark and Mary Woodville who are retiring as therapeutic foster parents after 35 years of service with Treatment Homes Inc. One of their former foster children who was adopted and is now an adult will share some of his experiences in their home.
We will also honor Dr. Allan Ward for his many years of commitment to Treatment Homes as a board member and assistant to “The Gingerbread Man”, Mr. Albert Porter. They assembled thousands of gingerbread houses over the past 30 years.
Thank you to our honorees.
Scheduled from 6.30 to 8.30, the evening will be rounded out by a sit-down gourmet dinner and a silent and live auction. To make your reservation, complete and return the reservation form or call 501-372-5039.
